I don't like reviewing places after only going the first time, but this is an exception. I was looking for some crawfish for a seafood boil, which I know they don't sell at regular grocery stores here in Tennessee. You have to go to an actual seafood market to get that kind of thing. So I typed "seafood market" into my GPS, and this place (formerly known as "Gandy Seafood Cajun Market") popped up! I was impressed--not only a seafood market in the Nashville area, but a CAJUN one, perfect for my boil! I walked in to a pretty small market, but quality over quantity, right? On the left was a bunch of fresh seafood. Shrimp, catfish, scallops, crab, and even oysters. Then on my left was all the frozen stuff. Pretty much every type of sausage you could imagine. Boudin, pork andouille, green onion sausage, and even some pork and gator sausage! And then there were tons of shelf stable things too. Cajun seasoning, gumbo filé seasoning, and several Cajun hot sauces like Old Bay and Crystal. Oh, and also some frozen garlic butter and plenty of seafood dips. The gentleman running the place--I'm assuming the only employee--was super friendly and helpful. I told him I was having a boil, and he told me exactly the kind of shrimp I needed. He told me what everything actually is too. I'm not super experienced in Cajun cooking, but he told me what was in all the sausages and the seasonings. I got some "slap ya mama" seasoning! What a great name! I left with a HUGE bill I must admit. I spend more on just a few ingredients for my boil there than I usually do on groceries for a whole week. Yikes! But I should have expected that. This isn't local stuff. They have to catch all this stuff in the bayou and ship it all up here. So I get it. This is limited supply stuff you can't just get anywhere, so it's obviously going to be expensive. But hopefully it'll be worth it. I guess I'll find out with my boil tomorrow! One of the minor disappointments was that they didn't have any of the crawfish that I came for. He said it was because "crawfish season" is over. I honestly didn't realize crawfish was seasonal! Usually only produce is seasonal. I guess crawfish hibernate or something? ‍ But the boudin I found said it was made of crawfish, so hopefully it'll have that crawfish flavor I'm looking for. Even with that disappointment, I'm giving this a solid five stars. This is pretty much the only CAJUN seafood market I know of in the area. Super nice market with a great employee and a wonderful variety of Cajun ingredients!

Looooooove love love. Searched Gumbo in hopes there was anything this side of town. Praise the Lort for this place. Their gumbo is perfection. They just do seafood gumbo because they are a legit seafood store. The roux is divine, large shrimp and crawfish pieces. They had a setup of fresh fish that looked amazing, and selection of other cajun specialties of various sausage, boudin, dips, sauces, AND key lime pie which os not to be missed. The have daily specials for ready to eat dishes, you can special order fish, have them prepare the fish for you, etc. their social media has lots of goodness posted for more details as they are working on getting their website set up better. The staff was super helpful and nice.

Always the friendliest service no matter how busy and knowledgeable of their products. Impeccably clean and always the freshest seafood around, not an exaggeration. Saturday specials are a must try too. Today we’re some impressive Lobster Rolls that were fresh, made to order, and so very tasty! Highly recommend supporting this locally owned and operated shop. If not you are truly missing out.

This place is INCREDIBLE I cannot believe more people don't know about it. It's more of a grocery store vibe and they are stocked with a variety of super fresh seafood as well as a small section for Cajun spices and hot sauces. They also a refrigerated/frozen section with fresh sauces, cheesecake, and frozen goods such a frog legs, roux, and more! The person running the shop is incredibly nice! He knew it was our first time right away and gave us a sample of shrimp, which was delicious! He said we could take anything home as is, or he could cook it there however we liked. It was some of the best food in Nashville we've ever had!! I highly recommend this place. The owner is so friendly, the food is fresh and delicious and cooked to your liking, it is very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!

Love this place - every time I go there I try something new. The Royal Red shrimp are delicious, and just bought red fish filet that was outstanding! The owner is very knowledgeable about all the seafood and makes great recommendations. Will be checking out the daily specials after talking to the owner.

Living in Old Hickory there aren’t great seafood options around here (I thought), so I’ve been resorting to the Juicy Seafoods in Madison and E Nash. I came across this place on Google Maps and… wow. Im a seafood novice, but Kojo guided me through it. I ended up going with 12 raw oysters, and 1lb of royal reds (steamed, and seasoned). The oysters were just over $1 each and completely on par with the $4/ea I’ve had at Henrietta Red. Delicious! The royal reds, however, were outstanding. 10x fresher and easier to peel than JS and for the same price. I just called in a carry out order and am on my way back in right now.
